We’ve been listening to the same voices for far too long.

We want to change that.

At Choir, our mission is to lift the voices of people of color, women, and non-binary professionals in industries historically represented by white men - starting with finance.

We all have the power to course-correct our broken systems, starting by changing who we listen to. That happens on stage and in the media – the two most public platforms for recognizing and amplifying expert voices.

Sonya
Dreizler

Co-founder

She/ Her

I'm Sonya, co-founder of Choir. I lead business development and client services for our conference clients, and developed the algorithm behind the Choir Score. I’m a passionate advocate for increasing representation of women and people of color in business, and am a self-identified data nerd. Combining these two passions at Choir is a privilege and a joy.

Some of the highlights of my work experience include serving as CEO of a Broker-Dealer & RIA, being an ESG consultant before ESG was cool, and authoring the acclaimed Do Better Series about sexual harassment, assault, and discrimination in financial services.

When I'm not working, you can find me filling my home with friends, good food, and plants.

Liv
Gagnon

Co-founder

She/ Her

Hey, I'm Liv, and I'm the proud co-founder of Choir, where I lead our Voices platform to help more people of color, women, and nonbinary professionals step into the spotlight via media & speaking opportunities.

I've spent the last 10 years as a PR, branding, and media relations consultant with a passion for working with underrepresented founders. After starting a firm designed to launch mission-aligned companies into the public eye, I realized I could leverage my experiences, connections, and resources to bring diverse voices to the spotlight at scale. Enter Choir.

I live in Los Angeles with my pittie rescue pal, June, and I'm always down to talk about music, food, and The Real Housewives.

Operations Coordinator

She/ Her

I'm Barakallah, the operations coordinator at Choir. I manage several administrative tasks, helping Liv and Sonya with bringing Choir to the forefront. I love working at Choir because I see the daily impact of the work we do, and as a woman of color, I understand and have personal experience with seeing representation in places where it previously hasn't been.

Marketing Coordinator

He/ Him

Hey! I’m Daveed and I’m the Marketing Coordinator with Choir. As someone fascinated with the power of different forms of media, I enjoy coming up with innovative ways to tell Choir's story, and using email and social media marketing to drive more visibility to Choir's work.

I have a B.A. in Film & New Media from The University of South Florida. I have worked or volunteered at several LGBT organizations, creating events, maintaining budgets, and supporting organizations that focus on diversity, inclusion, and intersectionality.

When I’m not hyperfocusing on my work, I like to analyze films with my roommates, while fending off our three mischievous cats from snatching our snacks!

So, what are two white women doing running a diversity business?

Both of us have experienced gender discrimination in our industry, and we also know that the benefits of industry diversity efforts have been reaped largely by white women. As beneficiaries of those efforts, it's our responsibility -and pleasure!- to hold the door open for all of the groups that finance has pushed out in the past.

What we mean when we say...
